One of our recent and most enthusiastic paddlers/photographers is young Aidan Briggs. At age 15 Aidan has developed a passion for, among other things, birds, birding, and bird photography.
Aidan is a freshman at Templeton High School where he maintains straight "A's" in his classwork. He has set lofty goals for himself and would like to pursue his higher education at Cornell University in their Ornithology program.
Recently he was taken under the wings of Hal & Victoria Schmitt, owners of the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging in Los Osos. In January of this year, world renowned bird photographer Arthur Morris conducted a week-long workshop at Lepp in conjunction with the Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival. Aidan was graciously invited to participate in the weekend activities at the workshop. Arthur Morris not only mentored Aidan and helped improve his photographic skills, but took him out to lunch! This was quite a thrill for Aidan, who has long been a fan of Arthur's work.
Aidan offers a line of prints and cards featuring his work. He can be reached via email at aidanbriggsphotography@gmail.com.
The images below, captured on his outings with Orchid Outriggers, are Aidan's. Enjoy!
